What exactly does laminate do?
The main goal of lamination is to achieve a **"Hollywood smile"**. This is usually done for the following:
- **Color correction:** When the teeth have acquired a very dark color due to medication or other factors, which cannot be treated by bleaching.
- **Shape correction:** If the teeth are too small, crooked or irregular in shape.
- **Covering gaps:** If there is a gap (diastema) between the teeth.
- **Covering of fractures:** To repair very small fractures on the edge of the teeth.
### 2. Laminate types (in terms of gender)
There are two main types with important differences:
- **Ceramic Laminate (Porcelain Veneer):** This type is the gold standard. Because it is made of ceramic, it looks very natural, transmits light like a real tooth, and is very resistant to staining (for example, from tea or coffee). Its life is longer.
- **Composite Laminate:** It is made of resin materials. This method is faster and cheaper, but it may change color sooner and is less durable than ceramic.
